Watch: During the first Test of the five-match series, Ben Foakes knocked out all three stumps in comical fashion while trying to gather a ball.
Opting to bat first in the Hyderabad Test match, England were bowled out for 246. They scored at 3.81 an over, their best, and the fourth-fastest by any touring side, in the first innings of a Test match on Indian soil.
Captain Ben Stokes led the way with an 88-ball 70, but among the eight batters to scale double figures, he was the only one to reach 40. R Ashwin (3-68), Ravindra Jadeja (3-88), Jasprit Bumrah (2-28), and Axar Patel (2-33) shared the wickets.
Yashasvi Jaiswal then got India off to an even quicker start. Mark Wood, the lone England fast bowler, opened the bowling for the first time since the 2015 Ashes, and Jaiswal promptly hit the first ball for four.
In the next over, Jaiswal lofted debutant left-arm spinner Tom Hartley’s first and fifth balls in Test cricket for sixes. After two overs, the Indian score stood at 19-0.
Captain Rohit Sharma finally got to face a ball in the third over. He flicked Wood for a run immediately. As the throw came in from deep fine-leg, wicketkeeper Ben Foakes ran into gather the ball.
In the process, he tripped over the wicket and knocked out all three stumps, leaving AB de Villiers, and plenty of others, amused.

Rohit eventually fell for 24. At the time of writing, India reached stumps on 119-1 with Jaiswal on 52 as Shubman Gill walked out. They trail by 166 runs.
