The Lions will play a two-day warm-up match against India A between January 12 and 13 before playing three four-day matches between January 17 and February 4. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host all the encounters. The unofficial Tests will coincide with the first Test in Hyderabad (starting January 25) and the first half of the second Test in Visakhapatnam (February 2).

Abhimanyu Easwaran, part of India’s Test side for their recently-concluded South Africa tour, will lead a 13-member India A squad. KS Bharat also featured in that away series and has been named in the group. Sai Sudharshan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan and Navdeep Saini are other notable inclusions.

For England Lions, uncapped Lancashire batter Josh Bohannon will captain a 15-player contingent, comprising  Keaton Jennings, Matthew Potts and Ollie Robinson among others. With 1,257 runs at an average of 59.85, including four tons, Bohannon finished as the leading run-scorer in the County Championship Division One last summer.
