Watch: Mitchell Starc ensured that Australia’s defence of 280 in the second ODI of their series against England got off to the perfect start as he removed both Jason Roy and Dawid Malan in the first over of their run chase.

The left-arm quick was at his devastating best to claim two wickets in the opening over to leave England reeling at 0-2. Starc first struck with his second ball as Roy gloved a short delivery aimed at his ribs through to wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

Starc then beat Malan’s outside edge with his next two deliveries before he bowled the England No. 3 – who scored 134 in the series opener – with a perfect away-swinger that angled into him before nipping away to crash into his off stump. The delivery was clocked at 145.5kph/90.4mph.
