Shubman Gill is bowled in Duleep Trophy 2024 after leaving the ball

At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Gill's India A began batting on Friday (September 6), day two of their first round match in the Duleep Trophy.

Gill walked out to open the innings alongside Mayank Agarwal. The pair began in positive fashion, putting on 50 for the first wicket in 13.1 overs. But at the end of the 14th over, their stand ended with the dismissal of Gill for 25.

Navdeep Saini pitched one up to the right-hander. The line was wide, almost on sixth or seventh stump. Gill shouldered arms to the delivery, but as the ball pitched, it deviated sharply, seaming back in to the batter. Having already left it, Gill could only watch as it crashed into the top of off stump.

That ball signalled the end of the second session on day two. Earlier in the day, Musheer Khan had picked up where he left off on day one to help India B to a total of 321.

At the time of writing, India A were 72-2, with Agarwal also having been dismissed, caught behind off Saini.
