Sarfaraz Khan hitting five consecutive boundaries off Akash Deep in the 2024 Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B

Watch: Sarfaraz Khan played a blistering cameo for India B in the second innings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru today (September 7), smashing Akash Deep for five consecutive boundaries in an over.

India A started the day at 134-2, aiming to overhaul India B's first innings score of 321. But they could only manage to add 97 runs to their total, getting bowled out for 231, 90 runs short of India B's total.

India B had a terrible start to their second innings, losing three wickets for 22 runs, including that of first innings centurion Musheer Khan for a duck. Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant then joined hands for the fourth wicket and counterattacked their way to a 72-run partnership.

Sarfaraz scored 46 off 36 balls, hitting seven fours and a six. Five of those seven fours came in one over, in fact, off five consecutive deliveries off Akash Deep.

In the tenth over of the innings, facing just his eighth delivery, Sarfaraz guided a back of length ball through gully for four. The next ball, pitched further up, was driven through covers. A flick through square leg followed, and then an off-drive past mid-off, before he finished off the over with a wristy cut through point for four.

Eventually, Sarfaraz was dismissed edging a rising Avesh Khan delivery through to the wicketkeeper.
