At Anantapur in a Duleep Trophy 2024 match, Anshul Kamboj claimed 8-69, the fifth-best figures in the history of the tournament.
The third innings of the Duleep Trophy match at Anantapur witnessed a long tussle between India B captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and India C fast bowler Anshul Kamboj.
Coming first change, Kamboj claimed 8-69 (including the first five wickets to fall) to help bowl out India B for 332 after they were 129-1 at one point. Having made 525 in the first innings, India C secured a first-innings lead of 193. Vijaykumar Vyshak (1-82) and Mayank Markande (1-59) claimed the other two wickets.
This was the first time Kamboj claimed even four wickets in a first-class innings. His previous best of 3-24 came in a Ranji Trophy 2023/24 match, for Haryana against Services at Rohtak. He also claimed 3-32 in the second innings.

Easwaran, meanwhile, carried his bat through the innings with 157 not out. He became the seventh to do this in Duleep Trophy. The previous instances all came between 1993/94 and 2003/04. The latter season had three instances, including two in the same match.
