BCCI has announced revised squads for the upcoming Indian domestic season curtain-raiser, Duleep Trophy, starting September 5. Here are the updated team lists along with injury updates.
Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja released
Navdeep Saini replaced Mohammed Siraj in Abhimanyu Easwaran’s Team B, while Gaurav Yadav came in for Umran Malik in Team C, captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad. "Siraj and Malik are suffering from an illness and are not expected to be fit in time for their Duleep Trophy fixtures," confirmed a BCCI release.
Ravindra Jadeja, originally named in Team B, was also released. Although the reason was not stated by the BCCI, it could be due to his workload management before the upcoming Bangladesh Tests, starting September 19.
The all-rounder retired from T20Is after India became World Champions in June and wasn’t picked for the ODIs against Sri Lanka earlier this month. However, chief selector Ajit Agarkar later confirmed that he remains in India’s plans for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

It is worth noting that several international players are part of the current edition of the Duleep Trophy, a selection call in line with BCCI chair Jay Shah’s move to ensure centrally contracted players take part in the Indian domestic tournament.
Jadeja and Siraj now join the other seniors in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah as the few exceptions to that directive.
Nitish Kumar Reddy's participation will continue to be subject to fitness as he is recovering from a sports hernia surgery.
