The third round of the 2025 County Championship was heavily affected by rain across the Bank Holiday weekend. Here's what the round of fixtures did to the points tables across Division One and Two.
There was only one result in Division One, with Essex securing a tight win over Worcestershire. After Ethan Brookes scored 88 and scored all of the runs in his final -wicket partnership with Jacob Duffy, there was controversy over whether Jamie Porter had taken the catch which won the game. However, without third umpires available, the decision was given out on the field and Brookes' efforts left Worcestershire 28 runs short.

While the rest of the matches in the top division all resulted in draws, there were some stories of note. Ollie Pope scored his first century of the season, putting together a partnership with Dan Lawrence, who also scored a hundred. Another strong batting performance from Sussex put them in a strong position against Surrey before conditions curtailed the action.
There was only one result possible in Division Two as well, with Middlesex completing a nine-wicket win over Glamorgan. Notable threads across the action included another low score for Zak Crawley in the first innings of Kent's fixture, while he scored an unbeaten half-century in the second.
Rehan Ahmed hit his second first-class century having continued in his role as an opening batter, while Shoaib Bashir's search for his first wicket of the season goes on. Here's what all of that has done to the standings.
