Watch: Australia Test batsman Travis Head had a moment to forget while playing in the County Championship for Sussex against Glamorgan, playing an ill-judged leave before walking before he had been given out lbw by the umpire.
The South Australian has had an overseas trip to forget so far, making 70 runs in seven County Championship innings before the ongoing fixture, with a high score of 20. His score of 47 marks something of a return to form therefore, and was welcome for Sussex, with the other four members of the top five all falling in single figures.
However, the battling knock came to an ignominious end, with Netherlands international Timm van der Gugten angling the ball in, Head taking an unwise decision not to offer a shot, and ball hitting pad in front of the stumps.
The umpire took a second to deliberate, but so certain was Head that he was out that he started walking off immediately. Good sportsmanship, or simply a desire to end an embarrassing moment? Watch the leave below and decide for yourself.
