Marnus Labuschagne has struggled in the 2021 County Championship so far, averaging 8.25 in three games heading into Glamorgan’s ongoing clash against Kent, and his poor run continued with a dismissal for 11 by Darren Stevens.
It’s the second time the veteran all-rounder has dismissed the No.3 ranked batsman in the world this season, but there was a hint of controversy about this decision. The Australian was given lbw, but plenty of observers wondered if he had been struck outside the line.
Labuschagne also seemed displeased by the decision, throwing his head back in disbelief, before turning his head and saying something to umpire Richard Illingworth as he walked off.
Earlier in the day, it was Labuschagne who brought to an end a stunning assault by Stevens, who made 190 to rescue Kent from 128-8.
The clip of the dismissal is available below, while at six hours, one minute into the live-stream Labuschagne’s reaction is visible.
