A controversial LBW decision on the final day of Lancashire’s home County Championship victory over Northamptonshire has gone about as viral as a county cricket clip generally goes.
A video of Saif Zaib’s dismissal off the bowling of Matt Parkinson was posted on Lancashire’s official Twitter account and the decision has since been the subject of derision on social media.
The fall of Zaib – the sixth of the innings – came as Northants attempted to bat out the final day to secure a draw; Northants eventually were bowled out late on day four.
Replays showed that Zaib was struck well outside the line of off-stump while attempting to play a shot. The replies to Lancashire’s post were full of criticism of the decision.
