After using Middlesex’s live stream of the county side’s game against Gloucestershire last week on its Sky Cricket channel, Sky will broadcast Glamorgan’s encounter at home with Yorkshire this week.
Surrey’s clash with Middlesex at The Oval, beginning on May 20, will follow. Sky’s website shows that Lancashire’s clash with Yorkshire will be shown on Sky Cricket from May 27 onwards.
Glamorgan have announced that Sky will bring in four manned cameras for the broadcast at Sophia Gardens, with the commentating line-up including Rob Key, Nasser Hussain, Ian Ward, Michael Atherton, David Lloyd, Robert Croft and Izzy Westbury.
The match later this week will be the first time a County Championship fixture involving Glamorgan is shown on Sky. “We’re absolutely thrilled the club will feature on Sky Sports for the first time and it makes it even more special that it’s during our 100th year as a first-class county,” said Glamorgan chief executive Hugh Morris.
“Sky will bring an enhanced streaming service for our supporters to enjoy at home, while it will give the players an opportunity to show off their talents to a wider audience.
“They have also kindly allowed us to use the broadcast on our website so all our supporters can watch the production, whether they are Sky Sports subscribers or not.”
Glamorgan are currently fourth in group three, while Yorkshire are second, 29 points ahead of the Welsh county.
