Watch: James Vince cruised to a double-century in Hampshire’s County Championship opener against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

Vince, who last played Test cricket for England in 2018, got his season off to a brilliant start, stroking his way to a 220-ball 231.

His quickfire effort was spread across two days, and the 30-year-old enjoyed a particularly entertaining partnership with Liam Dawson: in the space of 25 overs, the pair put on 194 runs.

Vince’s innings was his first in competitive red-ball cricket since the 2019 County Championship, when he finished the season 504 runs at an average of 50.40.
