Faf du Plessis collapses due to a cramp after hitting a six during a CPL 2024 between Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings

Watch: Saint Lucia Kings captain Faf du Plessis hilariously collapsed with a cramp after hitting a six during their CPL 2024 fixture against Guyana Amazon Warriors on Saturday (September 28).

With 63 needed off the last over, the match was already out of the Kings’ hands. Junior Sinclair was asked to bowl the last over. Sinclair tossed up the first ball turning into middle. Du Plessis made room and slogged it over long on for a massive six. Upon executing the shot, the Kings captain fell flat on the ground due to cramps. He seemed to be writhing in pain as the physio rushed to the ground to offer him some treatment. Du Plessis was soon back on his feet and continued.

Du Plessis ended the innings by smashing two consecutive sixes off the last two balls, finishing his innings unbeaten on 92 off 59 deliveries despite the Kings losing the match by 35 runs. The final over went for 28 runs.

Shimron Hetmyer’s 30-ball 58, which included nine fours and a six, was the point of difference between the two sides as the Warriors scored 207-7 batting first.

After the match, Du Plessis humorously replied to a viral video of his onfield discomfort on X, asking, "Where was the sniper sitting?"
