On Wednesday night (September 4) at Warner Park, Guyana Amazon Warriors chose to bat first against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, scoring the second-highest team total in CPL history (266-7) on the back of contributions from Rahmanullah Gurbaz (69), Shimron Hetmyer (91) and Keemo Paul (38).
With a record chase on their hands, the Patriots made a strong start as captain Andre Fletcher, along with Kyle Mayers and Sherfane Rutherford helped them to 94-2 by the end of the Powerplay.

The Warriors were under the pump, and some of the frustration perhaps boiled over in the eighth over. One ball after Fletcher had run down the wicket and deposited Keemo Paul onto the roof of the stadium, the batter set off for a single.
Fletcher appeared to collide with Paul on his way through, and though the contact was slight, he did not take it kindly. Fletcher made a displeased, questioning gesture at Paul once he reached the other end, and stump mics on the broadcast picked up Paul agitatedly asking, "I didn't move? I didn't move?"
The on-field umpire stepped in to defuse the tension, and television commentators suggested Fletcher may have been extra annoyed as a similar incident had occurred earlier in the innings, with Junior Sinclair.
Fletcher eventually went on to score 81 off 33 balls, but his team ended up falling short by 40 runs.
