Imad Wasim casually strolls to collect the ball in the CPL

Watch: Imad Wasim drew Mohammad Amir's wrath during the CPL match yesterday (September 1), when he took his time jogging round to collect a ball instead of attempting to cut it off before it reached the boundary rope.

The incident happened late on in Barbados Royals' chase against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. Quinton de Kock was unbeaten on 66 at the time, and was on course to guide to Royals home easily, with 27 more runs needed to win off 42 balls.

Mohamad Amir sent down a short wide delivery that de Kock uppercut to deep third. Imad was stationed at deep backward point and initially started running round towards the ball. However, he quickly eased up into a light jog and watched as the ball rolled into the boundary rope only a short distance away from him.

Imad's decision not to attempt to stop the ball infuriated Amir, who could be heard shouting in his compatriot's direction over the stump mic. After Imad had returned the ball, play was stopped for a short time to allow the Falcons to have a team meeting in the middle and change the field.

Barbados Royals went on to chase the total with ease, recording a nine-wicket victory with 27 balls remaining. De Kock finished unbeaten on 87 off 45 balls, with Amir conceding 44 runs off his 3.3 overs including the winning runs.
