The 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2020) begins with Guyana Amazon Warriors taking on Trinbago Knight Riders in the tournament opener. Here are five players you’ve just got to have in your fantasy team ahead of the encounter.
Brandon King (GAW)
Brandon King was 2019 CPL’s top-scorer with 496 runs in 12 matches at a strike-rate of 148.9. Overall, the opener has 892 runs in 38 T20s at 136.60 to his name. There’s plenty of runs in him, and he’s a must-have in your fantasy team.

Imran Tahir (GAW)
The South Africa leg-spinner finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in CPL 2019, with 16 wickets in nine matches, with an economy rate of just 5.62. He returned similar numbers in the 2018 edition of the tournament as well – 16 wickets at an economy rate of 5.9. On the turning tracks in Trinidad & Tobago this season, he’s a shoo-in.

Lendl Simmons (TKR)
Simmons was No.2 on the top run-scorers list of the previous edition of the CPL, with 430 runs in 12 matches at a strike-rate of 150.34. Though Simmons has a T20 career strike-rate of just 119.33, expect him to continue from where he left at CPL 2019, especially given he’s had a decent year since, with four half-centuries in his last 10 T20 matches, one of which was a 40-ball-91 against Ireland in January.

Dwayne Bravo (TKR)
Though Bravo didn’t feature in the 2019 CPL, he has scored over 100 runs and picked more than 10 wickets in each of his last four seasons in the competition. One of the best T20 all-rounders of all time, leaving him out is likely to make a big dent in your fantasy ambitions.

Kieron Pollard (TKR)
Kieron Pollard has scored over 300 runs in the last two CPL seasons, and that too at a terrific strike-rate of nearly 160. Like Bravo, if you leave Pollard out and he ends up having one of ‘those’ days, you will be left far behind in the fantasy pecking order. Get him in.
