Australia off-spinner Chris Green became a part of an elite list of T20 bowlers by giving away just three runs in his four-over spell during a CPL 2020 game in Trinidad on Tuesday.
Playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors against Barbados Tridents, Green finished with extraordinary figures of 4-2-3-1, delivering 21 dot balls which equalled the record for the most dot balls by an Australia in a T20, level with Mitchell Johnson’s spell of 3-3 in the 2016/17 Big Bash League.
Only 11 bowlers have conceded three or fewer runs in a completed spell in a men’s T20 innings, and it’s only the fifth occurrence in the CPL.

Green, opening the attack for Warriors, dismissed Justin Greaves off the fifth delivery of the innings, ending with a wicket maiden, and gave away just three more runs off his next three overs. The 26-year-old, ended with a magical economy rate of 0.75, and helped the Warriors bundle out the Tridents for 92.
The Tridents managed just two boundaries in their 20 overs. After 12 overs, they had been reduced to 27-8, before a timely partnership worth 48 runs between Mitchell Santner and Rashid Khan for the ninth wicket helped them cross 52, the lowest total in CPL history.

Green, who was banned from bowling earlier this year after his action was found to be illegal in the BBL, has picked up eight wickets from as many games in the tournament so far, and has conceded more than 30 runs in his spell on twice this season.
