Against the Sylhet Strikers at Mirpur, Faheem Ashraf of Fortune Barishal returned 3.1-0-7-5, the fourth-best figures in BPL history.
Coming on at second-change in the sixth over after Mohammad Nabi (2-26) and James Fuller (2-23) got two early wickets, Faheem struck thrice with his first ten balls. He had Rony Talukdar and Kadem Alleyne out caught and clean bowled Nahidul Islam to leave the Strikers reeling at 46-5.
Ahsan Bhatti (28) and Jaker Ali (24) then put on 32, the only reasonable stand of the innings before falling in quick succession. Faheem returned in the 17th over, and took only seven balls to mop up the tail. He finished with figures of 5-7 from 19 balls, of which 15 were dots.
Faheem’s figures are now the best for a Barishal franchise, the best against a Sylhet franchise, and the fourth-best in BPL history. Taskin Ahmed’s 7-19, the best figures, came earlier this season.
