This year's BBL will begin later this week (December 15). Here are all the overseas players signed up to feature in the 14th season of the franchise competition.
The tournament will conclude on January 27, 2025, following three knockout matches in finals week. The round-robin stage will consist of 40 matches, with each team playing each other twice.
There have been significant changes in team personnel both on and off the field ahead of this season. Adelaide Strikers' former head coach Jason Gillespie was named Pakistan men's head coach earlier this year, meaning former Test captain and assistant Strikers' coach Tim Paine will take the reins from this season. They've also picked up England Test batter Ollie Pope and retained white-ball quick Jamie Overton to go alongside Fabian Allen as their overseas contingent.
Hobart Hurricanes have made a big addition to their top order in West Indies captain Shai Hope. They also picked up Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain, but he has since been ruled out of the tournament because of its clash with the BPL. Melbourne Renegades have also made significant overseas gains, selecting Laurie Evans after he was released by Scorchers as well as picking up new England star Jacob Bethell.
Tom Curran has also been picked up by Melbourne Stars from Sydney Sixers, with Ben Duckett adding to the England representation at the club. They will be alongside Usama Mir, who will miss the first three games of the season, with Adam Milne signed in his place. Sydney Sixers have signed West Indies spinner Akeal Hossain alongside the returning James Vince and surprise English pick Jafer Chohan, who has yet to make his international debut.
