The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played on December 16 at Buffalo Park, East London followed by the second ODI on December 20 at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom and the third ODI on December 23 at Willowmoore Park, Benoni.
Earlier, in the T20I series, 16-year-old spinner Shorna Akter claimed 5-28 in the first T20I to inspire Bangladesh Women to their historic first win over South Africa in South Africa. Akter’s five-for was Bangladesh’s fifth in women’s T20I cricket and the first by a 16-year-old in a T20I between two Full Member nations. The second T20I was abandoned due to rain before South Africa Women levelled the series by winning the final match by eight wickets.
Laura Wolvaardt will captain the hosts, with Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka and Nadine de Klerk in the squad. While Eliz-mari Marx and Meike De Ridder earned their maiden ODI berths, Chloe Tryon was sidelined due to a groin injury.
Meanwhile, Nigar Sultana will continue to lead the tourists after an impressive outing in the T20I leg of their South African tour. All-rounder Lata Mondal has also returned to the ODI team after missing the Pakistan series.
