South Africa's Tony de Zorzi, Tristan Stubbs and Wiaan Mulder all scored their maiden Test centuries during the first innings against Bangladesh in Chattogram, to record a 75-year first in Test cricket.
On day one (October 29) of the second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Chattogram, South African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bat first.
Markram fell for 33, but after him Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs put on 201 for the second wicket before Stubbs fell for 106. At stumps, South Africa were 307-2, with de Zorzi unbeaten on 141.

By the end of day two, South Africa had reduced Bangladesh to 38-4.
Three maiden centuries in one innings: Only the second time in Test history
Stubbs, de Zorzi and Mulder's efforts were their maiden centuries in Test cricket, in their fifth, eighth and sixteenth matches respectively. But all three of them doing so in the same team innings marked a rare occurrence in the history of the game – this is only the second time it has happened.
The first time this happened came in November 1948, when West Indies toured India. In the first match of the series in Delhi, they scored 631 in the first innings thanks to centuries from Clyde Walcott (152), Gerry Gomez (101), Everton Weekes (128) and Robert Christiani (107).

These were Walcott, Gomez and Christiani's first centuries in Test cricket, while it was Weekes' second. He had made 141 against England in his previous innings, and went on to reel off three more centuries in a row against India; 194 in Mumbai and 162 & 101 in Kolkata.
There have been 50 instances of two players scoring their maiden Test centuries in the same innings, with the latest pair being Ireland's Paul Stirling (103) and Curtis Campher (111), against Sri Lanka in April 2023.
