Australia have taken a four-point lead in the Ashes after winning the only Test between the two countries by 89 runs. The five-day game went down to the wire after Australia took a slender ten-run lead following a stunning 99 by Ellyse Perry. Australia made 257 in the second innings and won the clash after dismissing the hosts for 178 at Trent Bridge.
The Women’s Ashes has a multi-format, point-based structure, with points gathered after every win. The team with the most points after the entire Test, T20I and ODI series will be declared the winner.
The first T20I will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham, with the second game at Kennington Oval in London. The third T20I will also be played in London, at the Lord’s Stadium.
The three T20Is will be played over a span of eight games, with the second and third T20Is on July 5 and July 8. The T20I series will be followed by three ODIs, starting on July 12.
