Pakistan wins away in Australia, full list: Electric Haris Rauf secures second win in 19 years

Pakistan, who are slowly fighting back from their worst-ever slump in cricket, recorded a historic win in the second ODI in Adelaide, winning the clash by nine wickets. After dismissing the hosts for 163 in the first innings, courtesy of Haris Rauf’s five-for, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique posted 137 runs for the first wicket in 121 deliveries.

Ayub, who struck six sixes during his knock of 82, was dismissed by Adam Zampa before Babar Azam walked out. Shafique was unbeaten on 64, while the former skipper Babar made 15*. Pakistan reached the target in just 26.3 overs.

Pakistan, under a new skipper in Mohammad Rizwan, had lost the first ODI by two wickets. The series is now level, with the third ODI on November 10.

The win marks a historic first for Pakistan in the last seven years, making it their first win in any format against Australia in Australia since January 2017. Overall, Pakistan have won just two matches against the opposition since January 2005 in the country. This century, the tally extends to six wins from the 45 matches they have played, all of which were in the ODI format.

Pakistan’s last Test win in Australia down under was in November 1995, while they are yet to win a T20I.
