Kohli MCG dismissal

Watch: Virat Kohli was dismissed attempting an expansive cover drive at the stroke of lunch on day five of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

India were given a target of 340 and they started steadily, albeit slowly. The Indian openers defended and left, scraping their way to 25-0 by the end of the 16th over. Just when they were starting to look increasingly comfortable at the crease, Pat Cummins broke through, removing Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in an over.

Kohli came to the crease at 25-2 and started off slowly as well, getting to five off 28 deliveries before he fell for a sucker ball. Mitchell Starc threw it full and wide outside off and Kohli went for the drive, only to edge it behind to Usman Khawaja at first slip.

It was Kohli's sixth dismissal edging behind to the slip cordon in this series.

India slipped from 25-0 to 33-3 heading into lunch, reducing their chances of victory and even saving the Test match massively.
