Virat Kohli and Prasidh Krishna in action during India’s two-day intrasquad match simulation ahead of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy

In an intrasquad match simulation in Perth, India prepared for their upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting November 22 at the same venue. Catch all the highlights of the two days' action here.

Prasidh Krishna troubled the India batters with his bounce. KL Rahul, backed to open in case of Rohit Sharma’s absence, looked in good touch before being hit on the right elbow off a rising delivery. He didn’t bat further in the practice session.

Yashasvi Jaiswal looked to take the attack to the bowlers, but eventually, the bounce got the better of him, sending him packing for 15. Virat Kohli looked in good nick before edging one to second slip off Mukesh Kumar’s bowling. After his dismissal, he went to the nets to practice.

Rishabh Pant was uncomfortable against the short ball, giving his wicket away to uncapped all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who also dismissed the in-form Dhruv Jurel. The wicketkeeper-batter scored successive half-centuries during India A’s unofficial Tests against Australia A earlier. Shubman Gill looked to give himself time before Navdeep Saini bounced him out.

A few of the India batters walked out to bat again. Jaiswal adopted a cautious approach and scored an unbeaten fifty. Kohli and Pant faced a barrage of short balls from Krishna and Reddy. After struggling initially, the former India captain found his mojo, while Pant was dismissed by Mukesh.

After batting for the second time, Kohli quashed rumours over his fitness. In another injury setback, Shubman Gill reportedly injured his finger while taking a catch at slip and could miss the series opener.
