In the latest ICC Test rankings, Jasprit Bumrah has become the No.1 bowler yet again, while his compatriot Yashasvi Jaiswal has achieved a career-best second spot for the first time.
Bumrah’s pivotal role in India’s Perth Test win at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy helped him gain two places to reclaim the No.1 position. He currently has a rating of 883. The tearaway quick is followed by Kagiso Rabada (872) and Josh Hazlewood (860), both of whom dropped a place. Bumrah first rose to the top after taking a nine-wicket haul against England in February this year.

In the batting department, Yashasvi Jaiswal, another vital contributor during India’s Perth win, rose two places to claim a career-best second spot with 825 rating points. Jaiswal smashed a sensational 161 in India’s second innings to script India’s comeback. He became only the second batter to convert his first four hundreds into 150s. England’s Joe Root still has a healthy lead at the top, with 903 rating points to his tally.
Among the all-rounders, India’s Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin, despite not playing the first Test, held onto the top two spots.
