Beth Mooney has become the first woman to score a century in all three formats for Australia after she reached her maiden Test hundred on day three of the one-off Ashes Test at the MCG today (February 1).
Mooney reached the milestone of the last ball of the first over of play on day three in Melbourne. She was left hanging on 98 overnight after Tahlia McGrath faced four balls of the final over of play on day two. Her century came off 155 balls and was the second century scored in a women's Test at the iconic venue after Annabel Sutherland scored 163 across the first two days of the game.
After reaching her century, Mooney was only able to add six runs to her total before she was bowled by Lauren Filer for 106 off 173 balls. She was the ninth wicket to fall in Australia's innings before the hosts were bowled out for 440, with a first innings lead of 270.

The innings means Mooney is now part of an exclusive club. She is the fourth women to score at least one century in all three formats of the game during their career, and the first from Australia. She has scored two T20I centuries so far, one in 2017 against England and one in 2019 against Sri Lanka, as well as three ODI hundreds.
Heather Knight is the only woman who has scored more than one Test century on the list, both coming against Australia. Tammy Beaumont is the second England name on the list, while Laura Wolvaardt became the first South Africa player to score centuries in all three formats when she scored 122 against India in a Test match last year.
