Watch: David Warner leapt forward to take a stunning one-handed catch even as the rest of the fielders went up for an lbw appeal during the first Sri Lanka-Australia Test in Galle.

There was plenty of action on the second delivery of the 30th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, sent down by Nathan Lyon, who was bowling from round the wicket. The ball drifted in towards batter Dimuth Karunaratne, who came forward but only managed an inside edge onto the pad before it lobbed up towards gully.

While Lyon along with the rest of the Australian fielders went up for an lbw appeal, Warner, at second slip, did not lose focus of the ball and dived forward to take a screamer with his left hand.

Replays confirmed that the ball had caught the inside edge. The Sri Lanka captain had to walk back after an 84-ball vigil at the crease, which fetched him 28 runs. The visitors were eventually dismissed for 212 runs, with Lyon completing a five-wicket haul.
