Watch: Mitchell Swepson completed a spectacular catch at the boundary rope to dismiss Shaheen Shah Afridi, and then proceeded to celebrate like the Pakistan quick, raising both his arms in jubilation as Australia narrowed in on a win in the third Test match on Friday.
Chasing 351 for a series win, Pakistan started off the fourth innings in Lahore strongly and were well-placed at 105-1 at one stage, before Nathon Lyon wreaked havoc. The off-spinner combined with skipper Pat Cummins to trouble the hosts and reduced them to 226-8 before Shaheen walked out to accompany Nauman Ali at the crease.
The quick sent the second ball that he faced for a four over mid-off. However, his stay was cut short the crease just five balls later, as he tried to slog one off Lyon, only for the ball to find Swepson on the boundary rope.
The third ball of the 90th over was tossed up slightly outside leg, and Shaheen hoicked towards the boundary. Swepson, however, dived to his left and clung on with both his hands, before proceeding to imitate Shaheen’s celebration, kising his finger tops before raising both his arms in the air to celebrate the fall of the eighth wicket. It also allowed Lyon to complete his five-wicket haul.
Pakistan were eventually all out for 235, giving Australia their first Test series win in Asia since 2011.
