Watch: After a hard day for his bowlers on a flat wicket, Babar Azam brought himself into the attack, and the call brought immediate returns.
Australia keeper Alex Carey looked well set for his maiden three-figure score in Tests, having spent nearly three hours at the crease. He was batting on 93, with just about two overs left in the day.
Known better for his batting prowess, skipper Babar Azam brought himself on to give some respite to his spinners. Towards the end of the 178th over, Babar bowled one which was on the fuller length and stayed low.
Carey, who had added most of his runs through the sweep stroke, used the same shot on this occasion. However, he ended up missing the ball, and was castled. This was Babar’s second wicket in international cricket, nearly three months after his scalp in Pakistan’s win against Bangladesh.
