Watch: Pakistan captain Babar Azam took a brilliant one-handed catch to get rid off Usman Khawaja on the first day of the third Pakistan-Australia Test at Lahore.

Khawaja had kept the Australia innings afloat after two early wickets for Shaheen Shah Afridi. He joined forces with Steve Smith to add 138 runs for the third wicket before the latter was dismissed by Naseem Shah. Khawaja’s own downfall came in the 75th over, bowled by Sajid Khan.

He tried to flick a full length delivery towards the leg side but the ball turned sharply and Khawaja ended up giving an edge to the right of first slip. Babar, fielding to the left of the keeper, leapt towards a descending ball and took a brilliant low catch.

“That is a magnificent catch,” said Mike Haysman on commentary. “That is outstanding stuff! Sajid Khan has picked him up and that is a blinder. An absolute blinder!”

The dismissal left Australia 187-4, which became 232-5 by the close. The series is level 0-0 after high-scoring draws in the first two Tests.
