Watch: Babar Azam smashed a glorious six which went all the way towards a kitchen which was positioned on the pitch-side during the second Pakistan-Australia ODI.

In the 30th over of Pakistan innings, Babar Azam slog swept Adam Zampa towards the leg side, with the ball landing safely beyond the boundary line for a six.

Or at least, safely for Babar, but the sponsors might have been worried for a moment, with the ball bouncing towards a kitchen oddly positioned by the field of play. Thankfully, no damage was donw.

Throwing the kitchen sink at a ball is a common cliche, but hitting a ball into a kitchen sink is much rarer.

The moment came during a special knock for Babar and Pakistan. He smashed a 73-ball hundred, his second fastest in ODIs and his 15th century in the format, with the innings driving a chase of 349 against Australia, Pakistan’s highest ever in the format.

It has taken Babar 83 innings to bring up 15 ODI hundreds, the fastest of any player in terms of innings.
