Watch: Shaheen Afridi dismissed Australia’s David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne in the space of three deliveries on the morning of the first day of the third Test at Lahore to give the hosts the early advantage.

Bowling his second over of the day, Shaheen, ICC’s Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2021, put his excellent skills on display yet again getting the important wickets of Warner and Labuschagne to give his team a sensational start. Warner, who had barely survived earlier, after Shaheen banged one in short only for the ball to fall inches short of the fielder at fine square leg in the first over, was unable to keep a nip-backer away, as he was dismissed LBW for seven. The third ball of the third over of the innings came back in sharply, hitting Warner, who was on his back-foot, right in front of the leg-stump. The left-handed batter walked off without reviewing, as Australia lost their first wicket of the day.

Shaheen struck two balls later again, after the quick lured Labuschagne to go for a drive with a fuller delivery. However, lack of footwork meant that Labuschagne could only edge it to the keeper, as he departed for a duck. It was only the third duck of his career, with all three coming against Pakistan.
