Watch: No.1-ranked Test batter in the world Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for a duck on the opening day of Australia’s second Test against Pakistan at Karachi.
After Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first, Usman Khawaja and David Warner got the visitors off to a strong start, putting together a stand of 82 before Faheem Ashraf removed the latter for 36 from the final ball of the 18th over.
In walked Labuschagne at No.3, hoping to build on his score of 90 in the first Test, but the right-hander was made to rue an attempted quick single off the bowling of left-arm spinner Nauman Ali.
Pushing the ball out to mid-off, Labuschagne was sent on his way before getting off the mark as Sajid Khan picked up and threw down the stumps at the non-striker’s end.
Labuschagne’s duck was his first in Test cricket since his maiden innings, coming against Pakistan in Dubai in 2018.
Australia finished the opening session on 100-2, with Khawaja unbeaten on 52.
