India and Australia will meet each other four days after clashing in the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad. This time they’ll play out a five-match T20I series starting November 23.
The five matches will be played across different parts of India, starting with the eastern coastal city of Visakhapatnam, to Thiruvananthapuram down south, to Guwahati in the north-east, followed by Raipur in central India and Bengaluru in the south.
India v Australia T20Is: Team news
Australia announced their squad for the T20I series mid-way through the World Cup. They named Matthew Wade as the captain of the squad, which will contain a surprisingly large number of players from the World Cup winning squad.
India, on the other hand, announced their squad for the series a day after the World Cup final, on November 20. They will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, with Ruturaj Gaikwad to be his deputy for the first three matches followed by Shreyas Iyer, who will join the squad for the last two games as vice-captain.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who was not picked in the squad, put out a cryptic tweet on X (formerly Twitter) after his omission.
