Watch: Nathan Lyon produced a vicious spinning delivery to bowl Suryakumar Yadav through the gate and cut short his debut innings in Test cricket.

There was plenty of excitement around how Suryakumar would fare, considering how successful he has been in T20Is. He got off the mark with a boundary too, sweeping Todd Murphy to the fence off just the second ball he faced. His joy, however, was, short-lived. On the first ball of the 60th over, Lyon, bowling round the wicket, landed the ball perfectly on a length just outside off stump. Suryakumar tried to reach out for it and force it through the off side.

Unfortunately for the debutant, he could not get to the pitch of the ball and left a massive gap between bat and pad. The ball ripped back into him, exploiting that gap and crashing into the stumps. Suryakumar was taken aback by the amount of turn and had to make the long walk back to the pavilion as Australia celebrated. This was also Lyon’s first wicket in the Test and Australia would hope that he can continue picking up more wickets for the remainder of this game.
