After a triumphant Asia Cup campaign, India move into the final leg of their preparations before the home World Cup with a three-match ODI series against Australia.

Australia, meanwhile, are coming on the back of a 2-3 series defeat against South Africa after having been 2-0 up. They will look to fine-tune their strategies and get back to winning ways ahead of the World Cup.

The games will be played in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot between September 22 and 27.

The first-choice fast-bowling contingent has retained their spots for all three ODIs. R Ashwin has returned to the ODI squad after a year and a half in the aftermath of Axar Patel’s availability. If Axar does not recover by the World Cup, Ashwin and Washington Sundar will compete for the backup spinner’s slot.

Australia will return to full strength with the returns of Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell. They will, however, miss of Travis Head, who is out injured with a fractured hand. The 18-member squad also consists of the uncapped Matt Short and Spencer Johnson.
