Liam Livinsgtone, who is the new No.1 all-rounder in men's T20I cricket.

England's Liam Livingstone has become the No.1 all-rounder in men's T20I cricket, following the latest update to the ICC's rankings.

England were in action against Australia over the past week, with a three-match T20I series cut short to two after rain washed out the final match in Manchester. Australia won the first match in Southampton by 28 runs, before England hit back, winning by three wickets in Cardiff to level the series.

Liam Livingstone becomes No.1 T20I all-rounder

The player of the series was undoubtedly all-rounder Liam Livingstone. He took 3-22 in the first T20I before top-scoring for his side with a valiant 37. In the second match, he returned commendable figures of 2-16 with the ball, before slamming 87 off 47 balls to take his side over the line in pursuit of a stiff total.

Livingstone's performances have rewarded him with a rise up the ICC men's T20I rankings. Ranked eighth last week, his stellar showing has given him a bump by seven spots into No.1, displacing Australia's Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis had also been involved in the series, but endured a poor time with both bat and ball.

This is Livingstone's best-ever T20I rating among all-rounders, at 253 points. Sikandar Raza is ranked third, with Shakib Al Hasan and Wanindu Hasaranga in joint-fourth place. Livingstone also enjoyed a jump of 17 spots in the batting rankings, to 33rd.

Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa make batting and bowling gains

A couple of Australian players involved against England also saw their rankings rise. Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis continued to improve, following up an Australian-record century against Scotland with knocks of 37 (27) and 42 (26) against England. He moved up 13 spots, to break into the top ten at tenth spot.

Travis Head remains the No.1 T20I batter, with 881 rating points and innings of 59 (23) and 31 (14) against England.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa also moved up one spot to sixth among bowlers. With 663 rating points, he is just one behind Wanindu Hasaranga and two behind Gudakesh Motie. Adil Rashid remains in top spot, and all of the top six are now spin bowlers. Aussie pacer Josh Hazlewood dropped one spot, from ninth to tenth while England's Reece Topley tumbled down the standing by 13 places, to 31st.
