Rain could interrupt the third ODI between England and Australia today (September 24) at the Riverside Ground in Durham. Here are the latest weather updates from the match.

England on the brink of a series defeat

The hosts enter the match trailing the five-match ODI series 2-0. In the first ODI, England were batting comfortably at 213-2 before being bowled out by Australia spinners for 315 in 49.4 overs. In response, a 129-ball 154 not out from Travis Head sealed the run-chase for the tourists with seven wickets and six overs remaining.

The second fixture was a low-scoring affair. Australia successfully defended 270, courtesy of a strong bowling performance. Mitchell Starc picked 3-50 with support from Josh Hazlewood (2-54), Aaron Hardie (2-26), Glenn Maxwell (2-15) and Adam Zampa (1-42).

It’s a do-or-die game for England, while Australia have a chance to seal the series. However, inclement weather could play a spoilsport.
