ENG v AUS 5th ODI: Who will win?

England go into the game with all the momentum behind them. They beat Australia heavily in both the previous two matches, registering a resounding 47-run win on DLS in Durham before crushing the tourists by 186 runs at Lord's yesterday (September 28). Having been heavily defeated in the first two ODIs, they are on the brink of completing a remarkable turnaround. However, Australia are the current 50-over world champions with heaps of experience and quality in their lineup. While the two losses they sustained were heavy, they have the ability to turn the tables again.

That's why Australia are still backed as the favourites to win the match and finish the series as victors. They are rated at a 1.8 return on ever pound betted on Stake. However given England's form, it would give a better return to bet on them to come out on top, backed at a 2.05 return on Stake.

England were impressive with the bat in both of the last two games. Harry Brook smashed his first ODI century in Durham, helped by an 82-ball 84 from Will Jacks. Brook was also impressive at Lord's, where he scored 87 off 58 balls, narrowly missing out on a second consecutive century. Ben Duckett and Liam Livingstone also hit half-centuries at Lord's, Livingstone smashing 28 runs off Mitchell Starc's final over of the innings, including four sixes. 

While it would likely be a safe bet to back one of England's power-hitters, Australia also have plenty with the bat. Travis Head scored an unbeaten 154 in the opening match, while Mitchell Marsh hit 60 in the second. They also have Glenn Maxwell, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith to call on. However, at a 2.15 return on every pound betted with Stake, England would give the best return on a successful bet.

Matthew Potts ran through Australia at Lord's with four wickets, the tourists bowled out for 126. England will also likely have Jofra Archer in their ranks for the game, as well as Brydon Carse. Australia's pace battery, however, is the envy of most of the world, with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Sean Abbott all on form. The sides are, as such backed relatively equally, Australia rated at a 1.95 return and England at 1.75 on Stake.
