The third Ashes Test is currently at a fascinating juncture, with Australia ending the second day on 116-4, a lead of 142 runs. Day 3 is expected to be a fascinating one, but the weather could play spoilsport at Headingley, with rain predicted for the morning and afternoon sessions.
According to the Met Office website, the Yorkshire & Humber area will be dry and sunny initially, with clouds increasing in the morning and bringing in areas of rain towards the afternoon. The showers could be torrential and thundery.

On the Met Office website, the chances of precipitation read 60 per cent from 11 am to 1 pm, coinciding with the first session. Here’s the breakdown of chances of precipitation throughout the day’s play:
11 am to 1 pm: 60 per cent
2 pm: 40 per cent
3 pm: 50 per cent
4 pm: 60 per cent
5 pm: 10 per cent
6 pm to 7 pm: 30 per cent
To note: Chance of precipitation represents how likely rain (or other types of precipitation) will fall at a certain time.
According to Accuweather, the chances of precipitation are 76 per cent around 3 pm and 88 per cent around 4 pm.
The maximum and minimum temperature is expected to range from 25 degrees Celsius to 16 degrees. Between 11 am and 7 pm, the humidity will range from 58 per cent to 77 per cent.
