With the Ashes series kicking off tomorrow (June 16), our Match Centre partners bet365 have Australia 10/11 favourites to break the visitors’ curse in England.
This summer sees the rivalry of the Ashes resume between England and Australia, and despite the revival in the fortunes of England’s Test team in the last 12 months and the fact that they have home advantage, they are still 6/4 outsiders to win this year’s Ashes series.
Australia are 10/11 favourites after taking the World Test Championship, while the draw is priced up at 6/1. England last won an Ashes series in 2015, which came in their own backyard and will be looking to regain the urn for the first time in eight years.
While Australia lead the way in terms of Ashes series won, they also have the edge when it comes to individual Test match successes having won 140, with England claiming 108 and 92 ending as draws.
However, their last series win in England came all the way back in 2001, over 20 years ago.
England have named their XI for the first Test, with Moeen Ali making a surprise return and Stuart Broad preferred to Mark Wood in the pace department.
bet365 will have all the odds ahead of the iconic series for the treasured urn.
They have an offer for new customers where you can bet £10 on the first Ashes Test and get £30 in free bets* – T&Cs apply.
On top of the Edgbaston markets, bet365 have a range of series specials that might take your fancy:

Although England are 6/4 underdogs to win the first Test, they should draw hope from their new attacking style of play and the success it has brought them since Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes’ appointments.
Skipper Stokes will be looking to provide some more memorable moments whilst representing the England badge, with his Player of the Match price boosted from 11/1 to 12/1.
Vice-captain Ollie Pope will be looking to showcase his leadership qualities and lead from the front, with boosted odds on the No.3 to be England’s top first innings batter from 9/2 to 5/1.
Marnus Labuschagne was one of the stars of the show in the last Ashes, finishing with 335 runs, and he has firmly established himself as one of the best batters in the world.
At 9/2, Labuschagne could well come good as the top first innings batter, with Steve Smith favourite to claim the accolade of top first innings batter at 7/2 odds.
It’s not surprise that James Anderson is joint-favourite at 11/2 to be the top first innings bowler.
However, Australia possess a top-level pace attack, spearheaded by skipper Pat Cummins, who has been the leading wicket-taker in the last three Ashes series and joins Anderson at 11/2 odds to be the top first innings bowler.
