Watch: Virat Kohli and other members of the Indian team felicitated the top performers from Nepal after their clash in the 2023 Asia Cup on September 4.
Vice-captain Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and head coach Rahul Dravid presented Nepal cricketers with medals to honour their performance during the clash with India at Pallekele on Monday. After India won the clash by 10 wickets in a rain-curtailed run chase, players from both teams assembled, before the Indians felicitated their rivals, who made their Asia Cup debuts in this year’s tournament.

Pandya presented a medal to all-rounder Sompal Kami, who scored a brisk 48 in the clash and helped Nepal recover from 144-6. Kohli then went on to hand over a medal to opener Aasif Sheikh, who top-scored for the side with 58. “He admires you [Kohli] as well”, revealed Nepal’s head coach Monty Desai before calling Sheikh up to receive the medallion.
Dravid also handed a medal to Dipendra Airee for his fielding effort during the match.
Kohli later signed Kami’s shoes, with the latter calling him “an emotion”.
