Watch: With three wickets in four overs, Ravindra Jadeja helped India get back in the game against Nepal in the 2023 Asia Cup match on September 4 (Monday).

Nepal made the most of three drops by India early in the innings. The first wicket added 65 before Shardul Thakur claimed the first wicket. Jadeja, who entered the attack in the 14th over, struck 12 balls later, dismissing Bhim Sharki for seven.

Pitched outside off, the ball turned back in and Sharki looked to cut, but he only managed an underedge and the ball hit the stumps. Two overs later, Rohit Sharma took a sharp catch to dismiss Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel.

Paudel looked to defend a quick ball but did not account for the turn, and it caught his outside edge to Rohit at slip. He fell for five in eight balls.

Five balls later, Malla looked to go big over mid-off but did not get the desired elevation as he offered a simple catch to Mohammed Siraj.

Jadeja’s figures after the first five overs read 17-3, as Nepal collapsed from 77-1 to 101-4. They were 178-6 in 37.5 overs when rain stopped play.
