Bangladesh were rocked early in their innings in the first match of the Super Fours of the Asia Cup against Pakistan. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who scored a century in the last match, was out first ball.
Haris Rauf came on to bowl in the eighth over of the innings and struck gold immediately. Left-handed opener Mohammad Naim, late on the pull, skied the ball and Rauf took the easy catch himself.
Towhid Hridoy came in at No.5 and did not enjoy a long stay at the crease. In his second over – the 10th of the innings – Rauf beat Hridoy all ends up with a 90 mph rocket that crashed into his middle and off stumps, leaving Bangladesh struggling at 47-4.

The two Bangladesh seniors, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, then stitched a 100-run partnership to rescue the innings. Shakib scored 53 off 57, while Mushfiqur scored 64 off 87.
Coming back to bowl his third spell in the 38th over, Rauf dismissed the set batter Mushfiqur as the latter tried to give the charge, only to edge the ball behind to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.
Rauf’s pace was too hot to handle for No.9 Taskin Ahmed, who fell first ball, handing another easy catch to Rizwan. Shoriful Islam denied him a hat-trick.
Naseem Shah then cleaned up the last two wickets as Bangladesh were all out for 193. Rauf finished with figures of 6-0-19-4, and was named Player of the Match.
