Watch: Rashid Khan bowled Abdullah Shafique with a wicked googly in the third Afghanistan-Pakistan T20I today (March 27), extending a streak of consecutive non-boundary deliveries in the format past three figures.

The Afghanistan leg-spinner eventually had his miserly streak ended at 106 balls by Saim Ayub, but not before he had caused some damage among the Pakistan ranks.

The Rashid run included four consecutive boundary-less games, the last two of a series against UAE and the first two of the ongoing rubber against Pakistan, with two non-boundary balls at the end of the first UAE T20I and two at the start of the third Pakistan T20I taking him to three figures.

The 101st was another dot ball – and a wicket too. Abdullah Shafique had avoided extending an unwanted streak of his own, finally getting off the mark following four consecutive T20I ducks. He showed why Pakistan had stuck with him with a glorious on-drive for four and an even better back-away lofted cover drive for six, but was undone by a devilish Rashid googly. Coming down the track, he missed the ball with his stumps disturbed.

Rashid added three more non-boundary balls before Ayub slog swept him over the rope for six, with the penultimate delivery of his spell also a maximum.
