Afghanistan have announced their squad for the three-match T20I series in India: here is the complete squad for the IND vs AFG series, including team list, injury updates and more.
Ibrahim Zadran leads the side which has considerable experience, including former captains Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Gulbadin Naib, among others. It is the first time Afghanistan is sending a squad to India for a bilateral T20I series.
Rashid Khan, who is Afghanistan’s regular captain, is part of the squad, but might not feature as he is recovering from a back injury. In November, he underwent a lower back surgery. As his recovery continues, he has been included, but is not the skipper, with Zadran named as skipper.
In a press release, ACB Chairman Mr. Mirwais Ashraf was quoted as saying; “We believe that AfghanAtalan are no longer underdogs & have excelled well in the recent past and we look forward to a highly competitive series against India.”
Zadran led Afghanistan against UAE in the recently concluded T20I series, winning it 2-1.
