Watch: After first-innings face-off with Taskin, Muzarabani unveils dance moves of his own

by Wisden Staff 1 minute read

Blessing Muzarabani reignited his bizarre on-field feud with Taskin Ahmed on the final day of the one-off Bangladesh-Zimbabwe Test, albeit in a more light-hearted manner than their previous coming together.

Earlier in the Test, the pair engaged in an awkward head-to-head confrontation after Muzarabani took umbrage with Taskin unveiling a dance move after playing a shot off the Zimbabwean seamer’s bowling. The pair were both fined by the ICC for the incident.

“Their fast bowlers were attacking me with bouncers, and trying to get me out,” Taskin said. “I think I was handling them well. Some of them were abusing me as well, but when they did it for the third time, I told him to do something with the ball rather than abusing me.”

On the final day of the Test, the pair resumed their strange hostilities. Taskin was shown indulging in some half-hearted dance moves while Muzarabani was at the non-stiker’s end, and the Zimbabwean then mimicked Taskin’s moves after hitting the Bangladesh quick for a boundary.

Bangladesh emerged victorious, bowling Zimbabwe all out for 256 – 220 runs short of their target – with Taskin picking up career-best figures of 4-82. Aside from his run-in with Muzarabani, it was a very good Test for the right-armer. Earlier in the game, he put on 191 for the ninth wicket with Mahmdullah, the second highest ninth-wicket partnership in the history of Test cricket. The two teams are set to contest three-match ODI and T20I series.
