by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Sri Lanka will face the Netherlands in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup Qualifier on July 9 (Sunday) — here’s where you can watch the summit clash between SL vs NED, including live TV and streaming details.

The remaining two teams to make the ten-side ODI World Cup in India later this year have been confirmed, with Sri Lanka joining the Netherlands in the competition. Eight teams directly qualified for the World Cup after finishing in the top eight of the 2020-2023 ICC ODI Super League, with ten more sides battling it out in the Qualifiers to seal the last two spots in the event in India.

Sri Lanka sealed a place after they beat Zimbabwe in their first Super Sixes match on July 2. The Dasun Shanaka-led side were unbeaten in the group stages, winning four in four, and carried forward points into the next round. After beating Zimbabwe, they also dominated West Indies to finish on top of the Super Sixes points table.

There was a three-way battle for the second spot, with Zimbabwe, Scotland and the Netherlands all in the race. Zimbabwe, who had an exceptional start to the Qualifiers, winning their first five games, including against the West Indies, which knocked them out. However, two defeats to Sri Lanka and then to Scotland in a crucial game were enough to send them packing.

It all boiled down to the Scotland-Netherlands clash, where the Netherlands needed 278 from 44 overs to make the World Cup. A stunning effort from Bas de Leede got them through, and they will now play the 50-over World Cup for the first time since 2011.

The final of the Qualifiers will be held at Harare on Sunday from 9 am local time.
